    OUR CAMPS

    Summer Camp is our JAM, itā€™s what we were born to doā€¦and we LOVE to get your kids excited about the environment!Ā Every week is different at Green Explorers Club, and each day with us involves a ton of hands-on projects, games, and guided outdoor exploration.Ā Ā Kids learn and explore topics such as endangered animals, ecosystems around the globe, and how they can be sustainable at home and in their communities. Ā Our five rotating themes include Nature in Chicago, Animals Around the World, Our Changing Planet, Sustainable Kids and Endangered Species. More information on these themes can be found below!

    DETAILS

    Camps can be purchased by the half or full day with early drop off and late pick up available. Ā Full-day camp runs from 9:00am to 3:00pm and half-day camp runs from 9:00am to 1:30pm. Before-Care available from 8:15am-9:00am and After-Care from 3:00pm-5:00pm. Ā Summer Camps are for ages 4-10.Ā Kids will need to bring a snack, a lunch and a reusable water bottle. Ā We are aĀ nut-free environment, so please snack accordingly!

    * Before/After Care: We require a 24-hour notice in writing (kelly@greenexplorersclub.com) for drop-in Before and After Care.Ā Ā Our late pick up policy applies to after care.Ā Ā Weekly packages for after care are available at a discounted rate, but are not prorated and are non-refundable.Ā Ā Before care packages are available for the week but are non-refundable and not prorated.Ā Ā When drop-in days are open, drop-in before or after care will be available.
    * Pickup/Drop Off: Drop off for camp is NO EARLIER than 8:50. If you need to drop your child off prior to that, please register him/her for before care. Pick up is at 1:30 or 3:00 pm.Ā

    Nature In Chicago

    Campers spend the week exploring all the fun that nature has to offer without ever having toĀ leave the city. Daily themes include Pollinators,Ā Urban Birding, Chicago Tree ID, Chicago Wildlife, Houseplants, Compost, andĀ Sustainable Food.

    Sustainable Kids

    Campers take a deep dive in to what it means to be sustainable. We will meet experts who work in a variety of sustainable careers, learn the ins and outs of the CTA, take a field trip to Lake Michigan to test the water quality and clean the beach, plant a kitchen garden, and practice ways that kids can be sustainable at home.

    Animals Around The World

    Campers spend the week exploring animals around the globe and the different ecosystems that they call home. We will travel to all seven continents and see howĀ animals live and play around the world. Daily themes include Oceans, Deserts, Rainforest, Wetlands, the Polar Regions, Forests and Grasslands.

    Our Changing Planet

    Campers explore how pollutionĀ and climate change are affecting life in Chicago and around the world. KidsĀ will walk through some of the real-world problems facing our planet and work towardĀ finding solutions that protect our earth. Daily themes include Chicago and Climate Change, Food Miles, Sustainable Menus, Energy, Carbon Emissions, Water Pollution, Weather, and Climate.

    Endangered Species

    Campers will explore what is causing plants and animals to be vulnerable and what we can do to help. We will start the week learning what extinction is by studying the dinosaurs and will spend the rest of the week traveling to different continents to understand the different reasons why extinction occurs and what kids can do to protect endangered animals.
