    Katie Brantley

Katie is a Chicago native, born and bred to appreciate the chill of its lake and the familiar birdsong of its favorite red-feathered flier. She graduated from Williams College with a degree in Psychology and English and a passion for environmental education, sustainability, and ecology. Working at a nature-based K-12 school in Costa Rica, at Chicago’s Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, and in a variety of traditional classroom settings strengthened her commitment to education and taught her to help children better understand their world using anything from poetry to bean sprouts to trash from local streams. When she isn’t working, sleeping, or spending time with family she reads, writes, knits, researches graduate programs, and entertains her rambunctious canine companion, Darcy.
