Field Trip Permission
Green Explorers Club is excited to get outside and take a hands-on approach to learning about nature and sustainability! During some of our camps, we like to take our campers on field trips to provide a real-world experience that goes along with what we are learning in the studio. Field Trip examples include, but are not limited to: nature walks in the neighborhood, riding CTA, field trips to the lake and various parks in the city.
By checking the box below, you agree to give Green Explorers Club permission to take your child(ren) on a guided field trip while he/she is enrolled in our camp.
Health and Wellness Policy
No Nut-Policy: I acknowledge and understand that Green Explorers Club has a NO NUT policy requirement for all participants. We take allergies very seriously and we ask that you please do not pack any peanuts, tree nuts, or any types of nut-related products to camp or class.
Covid-19: By registering for our camp, you acknowledge that the pandemic is constantly changing and evolving as are the many policies and regulations. At Green Explorers Club we are required to follow any applicable government guidelines and regulations. Currently per the city of Chicago, children five and older must show proof of vaccination to attend camp and wear a well-fitting mask while indoors at camp. As we approach summer, we will update you if there are any changes to our policies.
Sickness: If your child is sick, COVID or not, please do not send them to camp. If a child is showing signs of sickness, has a fever or is vomiting while at camp we will contact you for immediate pick-up. To keep from spreading the illness, please do send your child back to camp unless he or she is fever and symptom free, without medication, for 24 hours.
Age Restrictions
All of our camps are open to children ages 5-10 years old. Please understand that these age guidelines are not only because of what our business license will permit, but also because we want to ensure that all children can participate in our activities without a lot of hands-on help.
While we understand younger siblings might want to participate, that your four-year old might attend full-day school or that you need to have both kids in one place, we appreciate your honesty about your child’s age. If we discover that an enrolled child is younger than five, we reserve the right to un-enroll the child without refund.
Pick-Up & Drop-Off & Before and After Care
Full-day camp runs from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm and half-day camp runs from 9:00 am until 1:30 pm. Drop-off for camp begins at 8:45 am - doors will be locked until then. Pick-up for camp begins 15 minutes prior to the end of camp and ends 15 minutes after. We understand that traffic in the city is unreliable and schedules run late, if this is the case, please give us a call to let us know. After 1:45 pm or 3:15 pm, you will be charged a late fee of $20.
We do offer an after-care add-on to the camp day from 3:00-5:00pm. You can register your child(ren) in advance and for the whole week during registration for $100. Once camp begins, you may add-on the full week of after care at a cost of $125. We unfortunately are unable to sell individual days of after-care or provide before care at this time.
Please understand that the end of the day is a busy time for our staff as they are cleaning and prepping the studio for the following day. All staff leave for the day at 5:30. We appreciate your understanding of this and respect for our pick-up policies.
